Our Story
It all started with an Elf and a Carrot... We met at William & Mary while completing our Masters of Higher Education. We knew we were destined to be best friends from our love for all things Christmas to any occasion to celebrate. Erin went by the nickname “ELF” because of her initials and Caroline went by “Carott”, a combination of her first and maiden name. Together, we loved hosting every holiday and birthday, really any excuse for our friends to come together. When discussing our business we knew our unique nicknames needed to play a role. We love Elves and Carrots and we hope you will too!

Meet Erin
Hi friend, it is great to meet you! I live in Wilmington, Delaware with my husband, our son, and our beloved rescue kitten who loves to assist me in packing and shipping orders. While I could mostly be found on a soccer or field hockey field as a child, I grew up in a household with a very crafty mom. She was always scrapbooking, stitching, sewing, selecting table settings, or making very fun care packages. Heck, she is still doing all of these things! While I am not as talented as she, I definitely picked up her love for crafts and hosting. Caroline and I became fast friends in college as we loved to host gatherings for our friends.
My taste in clothes, art, and really all things lifestyle is heavily influenced from my childhood hometown, Williamsburg, Virginia. I loved growing up near the coast and am drawn to patterns and designs that take me back to the 18th century. I am thrilled that "coastal grandmother" is a term and also chic, because that is how I would describe my taste and the inspiration for my paintings.
When I am not creating for Elves & Carrots, I love to keep myself busy with other projects - whether it is working on a room in our 100 year old home, gardening in attempts to perfect a hydrangea hedge, or learning a new skill like sewing. My husband lovingly calls me a creative daydreamer - I am constantly brainstorming colors, patterns, textiles, and layouts in my head. Usually, multiple projects at a time.

Meet Caroline
Hi, I’m Caroline! I live in Cincinnati, Ohio with my husband, our twins, and our dog. Most of my painting happens in short, sweet windows of nap time—proof that creativity can thrive even in the busiest seasons of life.
While I’ve always loved art, it wasn’t something I made time for until Erin encouraged me to take a watercolor course during COVID. That experience reignited my creativity and ultimately led us to start Elves & Carrots together—something that has been such a meaningful and fun journey.
My creative process is deeply rooted in everyday life. I’m often designing for whatever is right in front of me—whether it’s a baby shower, a holiday I love, or something new for my home. If it’s on my calendar, it’s probably turning into a painting.
I would describe my style as a mix of color, a little bit of chaos, and simple, approachable patterns. I love creating pieces that feel fun, fresh, and easy to incorporate into real life.
When I’m not painting or working on Elves & Carrots, I’m spending time with my kids, working full-time in education, or winding down with my husband and a good Netflix show. You’ll usually find me creating with a cup of coffee in hand—and occasionally a glass of wine when it’s time to update the website.
